When Robert M. Waller, Jr. was inducted into the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in ’99, he probably couldn’t have predicted that his son and namesake, Robert M. Waller III, would receive the same honor just 17 years later.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Robbie Waller grew up wrestling from an early age. Life was lived primarily on or around a wrestling mat, which led him to a decorated career as student-athlete and success as an assistant and head wrestling coach at the University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Oklahoma, and Lock Haven University.

While at Mount Pleasant High School in Pennsylvania, Robbie battled his way to a 128-3 record. He was a two-time Beast of the East Tournament champion, a three-time Powerade Tournament champion, a two-time WPIAL Class AAA champion, a three-time PIAA Class AAA state finalist and a one-time state champion.

In college he was a 4-year starter with the Oklahoma Sooners’ Division I team, accumulating more accolades as a two-time Big 12 champion, four-time NCAA Division I qualifier, and one-time NCAA champion and NWCA Academic All-American. His collegiate record stands at 103-30.

After graduating, Waller went on to be the assistant wrestling coach at the University of Missouri-Columbia (2003-2005) and the University of Oklahoma (2005-2009), and the head coach at Lock Haven University for four years.

Today, Robbie has turned his sights to helping students by providing them with the best fitness and training equipment available. Whether it’s a completely new High School strength and conditioning room, like this facility at the new Armstrong School District, or an update to a university fitness center, Robbie works with Strength Coaches and Athletic Directors throughout Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia to ensure that every need is met with a great solution.
